JUST A REMINDER - We are closed this weekend. We will be back open the following weekend with our new look menu. 

Our popular Sushi platters will be back too 🌱🥢🍱

Sushi platters are £40 and have around 45-48 pieces sushi plus sauces & slaws.

They are available to collect from By The River Brew Co between our opening times Friday 5-9 Sat 12-8 and Sunday 12-5.

Sushi platters need to be pre-ordered a couple of days in advance so we can make time to prep them alongside service! 

We have limited availability on these so if you’d like one get your pre-order into us by messaging our WhatsApp business 07376603357 and we will take it from there. Payments made via the W8R app on arrival. You can sit in the venue, no need to book. Or take away and enjoy at your leisure. Summer is coming and these are just the perfect way to celebrate 🌞

We reopen on Friday 27th through to Sunday.

Looking for an easy recipe idea? We have something quick and delicious for you: ⁠
⁠
〰️Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Pierce potatoes on all sides with a fork. Sprinkle with salt and cover with foil. Bake on center rack until tender, about 45 minutes to 1 hour.⁠
〰️Allow potatoes to cool slightly, but still warm then cut a slice down the center of the potato, not cutting all the way to ends. ⁠
〰️Spread open the potato and add butter, salt and pepper. ⁠
〰️Divide vegan sour cream or crème fraiche on top.⁠
〰️To serve, top with fresh chives and a spoonful of Caviart®.⁠

I have been full-on craving this Ginger-Miso-Yuzu Salad by chez.jorge all week, so I finally grabbed all the stuff for it and made it for dinner last night.
Jorge describes it as an “Asian-inspired massaged kale salad with ginger-miso dressing and a hint of yuzu. An easy, delicious, and protein-packed bowl.” 

It took about an hour from start to finish (not including clean up!), but good gosh darn it’s worth it!  I couldn’t find seaweed salad, so I used vegan caviar (which I found a grocery_outlet!) to add a little seaweed flavor.  I was in a rush and totally forgot to add the crispy fried shallots the recipe calls for. And I added snap peas cuz it sounded good.

This salad has EVERYTHING:
Massaged kale, shredded red cabbage, Szechuan pepper roasted sweet potatoes, teriyaki tofu (I added sesame seeds!); 5-spice roasted crispy chickpeas (I used red beans instead); cherry tomatoes, and sautéed shiitake mushrooms. Topped with a spicy ginger-miso-yuzu dressing. 🤤

This mackerel pincho with romesco al honout sauce, crunchy apple and Manchego cheese gathers the best of Spain in just one bite. The mackerel is the centre piece of this pincho, and the rest of the ingredients harmoniously brings the best of the land and the sea. The seaweed pearls add that extra salinity well combined with the alfalfa sprouts and the citrus of the sichuan pepper. Spain from North to South in just one bite. This pincho will surely make you fall head over heels for this Spanish well known miniature cusine. You need: 

INGREDIENTS

- French baguette , rústica or chapata 
- Romesco al hanout sauce. See recipe in previous post.
- 1/4 pink lady apple finely chopped
- 6 months old Manchego cheese finely sliced
- Canned mackerel, skinned and boned
- Seaweed caviar 
- Alfalfa sprouts
- Sherry vinegar
- rosemary and lemon infused olive oil
- Sichuan pepper
- Salt 

PRO TIPS

1. Finely cut the apple. Place it in a small bowl, pour some rosemary oil and reserve for an hour
2. Cut the bread into 1 ich slices and toast them so that they are firm enough to hold the ingredients. 
3. Finely sliced the Manchego cheese straight from the fridge and leave it at room temperature.
